UK Government to Protect 650 Sepura Jobs

Businessweekly reports that the UK Government’s approval of the proposed £74 million takeover of Sepura by Hytera has protected around 325 jobs at the communications technology firm’s new Cambridge headquarters and some 650 jobs worldwide. Sepura’s share price also rallied encouragingly on the news that there will be no further investigation in the UK.

In a joint statement the companies said they were now working towards completing remaining regulatory steps and the acquisition “by around the end of May 2017.” A plan on how to keep the 650 jobs is not announced but it seems that the UK Government provides back up to the former Queen’s Award and Business of the Year winner.
